Addition Notes: Obit from the Kentucky-Standard: Malcolm Lee Coomes, 78 Malcolm Lee Coomes, 78, Bardstown, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002. A native of Nelson County, he worked for Crown Zellerbach in Indiana for 12 years. He was a member of Nelson County Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cornelia Asher Coomes; his parents, William and Beatrice Snellen Coomes; and a brother, Arthur Merrell Coomes. He is survived by one son, William E. Coomes, Bardstown; four daughters, Sandra Webb, Tennessee, Donna Toney, Greenfield, Ind., and Debra Martin and Karen Runyon, both of Greensburg, Ind.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Spolski and Linda Miracle, both of Bardstown. The funeral was Saturday at Greenwell-Houghlin Northside Chapel with Bro. Darrell Goodlett officiating. Burial will be in South Park Cemetery in Greensburg, Ind. A graveside service is 1 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions go to the Hospice of Nelson County. Greenwell-Houghlin Northside Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
