Addition Notes: The Eulogy presented by Elizabeth Snellen Ferguson.

Words cannot express my appreciation for the love and support our families have received the last few days. Your words of encouragement, thoughts and prayers have sustained us in the most difficult time of our lives.

February 13th, 2016, 8:27 pm, I received the call no parent ever wants to receive. Your child has been involved in an accident and you need to get to the hospital right away.

What had started as a Valentine dinner with his loving wife and family, ended in a second of death and destruction.

A wonderful husband and son, a beautiful wife and mother, two lives taken too early by the actions of a careless and selfish man, choosing to drink and drive.

The criminal charges are many, including two counts of murder; but what the courts will never hear are the number of devastated lives, father, mother, husband, wife, children, grandparents, siblings, cousins, friends and other families that have been forever tragically changed. I lost a best friend, a confidant, my only son.

No one knows the day, the hour, the second. Life is short, unpredictable, ever changing. Stephanie put it in perspective when she said: "I just blinked my eyes."

Our heavenly Father has told us "My ways are not your ways". We will never understand why God has called two beautiful people home. Our hearts are broken, our dreams cut short, our tears are many.

Live your life to the fullest. Love your family, cherish your friends, take care of yourself. It's only the blink of an eye.

I love you, Jason.

Rest in Peace my son, Rest in Peace.

+ Stephanie Sue Haycraft (b. Apr 28, 1976; d. )
